Happy Valley Filtered Water Pump Station

To improve the process efficiency of maintaining water levels at eleven different sites across South Australia, ATSYS was contracted for the PLC and SCADA control system works, of the Happy Valley Filtered Water Pump Station (FWPS) project. This process efficiency was improved by replacing legacy communication equipment, upgrading PLCs, installing new PLCs, and installing new HMIs at Happy Valley FWPS Site.

Improving process efficiency to maintain water levels across numerous sites

ATSYS rolled out new control systems across ten remote sites to meet the project objectives with zero impact on operations. The works also included installation of new redundant base radio and antenna at the Happy Valley control building with a network link via the existing fibre connection to the Happy Valley FWPS. An upgrade on the existing telemetry network with a new digital licensed network was also completed. A new unified radio network and control system was delivered by ATSYS to all sites in order to replace existing mismatched technologies.

The Happy Valley FWPS project was an impressive collaboration effort between SA Water, Allwater, and ATSYS. With the upgrade of network and control systems, ATSYS delivered solutions that simplified operations and troubleshooting. ATSYS also provided detailed test documentation which is now used as an example for system integrators on the Automation Panel. The efficiency and operational benefits provided by ATSYS during the Happy Valley FWPS project continue to positively impact SA Water and the services they provide to the wider community.
