Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT) undertook a project from 2014 to 2015 to upgrade the telemetry, emergency stop system and associated devices along six of their conveyors and replace them with an AS4024.1 compliant PLC and remote I/O system.

ATSYS successfully delivered the upgrade project to DBCT, introducing many benefits to the operation of the site, while overcoming the many challenges encountered throughout the project. Some of these benefits included:
Replacement of End-of-Life PLC Hardware, reducing communications drop-outs and spurious trips
Providing a higher level of diagnostics
PLC hardware which conforms with standards for machine safety
A new DLR Fibre Network to ensure redundancy and improve reliability of communications
